Donation Guidelines
You say you want to donate an artifact to Dallas Heritage Village?

When making a donation here are some points to consider

1. If possible determine if the item or items date between 1840-1910. This is Dallas Heritage Village's (DHV) mission time period and we only accept items that date within that time period.

2. Call the curatorial department and speak with the Curator Of Collections about your item(s), (214) 413-3670.

3. Please do not drop the item(s) off at the ticket or main office. Legal ownership of items must be transferred to DHV before an item can be added to our collection. This involves signing a gift agreement.

What Dallas Heritage Village must consider before accepting a donation:

1. Is the item consistent with our mission time period?

2. Is the object physically stable enough for use in exhibits? If not do we have the resources to conserve it?

3. Does DHV's collection include items of similar use or design?

4. Will the item be used in the foreseeable future? If not is DHV capable of providing appropriate storage space that is of museum quality and standards?
