History of Citizen's Bank

Built in Justin, Texas, a small community north of Fort Worth, the Citizen's Bank provided necessary credit for farmers and security for local depositors. Housed in a brick building with classical architectural elements and located on a prominent street corner, the bank was typical of many banks built in North Central Texas around 1900.

Since banks often rented space to attorneys, doctors, or dentists, the room at the rear of the building has been equipped as a turn-of-the-century dentist's office.

Legacy Gift to Dallas Heritage Village from Comerica Bank - Texas

Comerica Bank presented DHV with a legacy gift of $150,000 to commemorate the bank's 150th anniversary. The gift funded the new audio tour program as well as an endowment for our Bank
that will allow us to care for the building and provide programming in the building that relates
to the history of banking in North Central Texas.

Comerica also generously loaned DHV 2 bank ledgers that date from the company's early years.
