Cub Scout Workshops
Earning ranks is historically fun at the Village!


Visit Dallas Heritage Village with your pack or den and experience history.
We believe in living history, and as a part of that mission, we offer a variety of hands-on programs for Cub Scouts of all ages. Activities are aligned with various Tiger, Wolf and Bear Cub achievements and electives as well as some Webelo
requirements. Dallas Heritage Village does not provide patches, belt loops or pins.
CIVIL WAR ON THE HOME FRONT
Cub and Boy Scout Day

Workshops are $15 per scout and includes admission to the Village, a guided tour and all activity supplies. Receive one adult
admission for every five participating scouts ($5 each additional adult). Workshop size is limited to a minimum of 6 Scouts and a
maximum of 20 Scouts. Pack or dens can be combined to meet the minimum. Workshops last between 2 ½ to 3 hours.

What was life like for a boy your age in the nineteenth century? Explore the Farmstead and a Victorian home to find out! Completing
this workshop satisfies:

FINDING YOUR WAY
What would we do without cars and trucks? Explore how early Dallas citizens travelled by foot, train and donkey in order to get

Explore history with a guided tour and hands-on activities during these special hikes just for Cub Scouts! Hikes are $7 per Scout
and includes tour guide and activity supplies. Workshop size is limited to a minimum of 6 Scouts and a maximum of 25 Scouts.
Packs or dens can be combined to meet the minimum. Tours last 1 ½ hours, including activity time.
TOLIETS, TELEPHONES, TECHNOLOGY!
How did people listen to music before i-Pods? Did people talk on the phone? Who had the first indoor bathroom in Dallas? Explore
cutting edge nineteenth century technology during a guided tour and then create a technological wonder of your own!
PAST TIMES AND GAMES
Explore the lives of Victorian boys by playing some old-fashioned Victorian games, exploring a nineteenth century school house
and visiting a fancy Victorian home!
THE WILD FRONTIER
Explore life in the wilds of North Texas! Learn about farming, livestock and the everyday life of a boy during pioneer times.
Then try your hand at rope making and learn to tie some basic knots.

Workshops and hikes are only conducted during regular museum hours and must be booked
at least three weeks in advance. Please remember, we are an outdoor museum.
Workshops are held rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
A $50 deposit is required at the time of booking. We need a final count at least one week
before your workshop. We prefer final payment at least one week before your workshop, but
you can also pay the day of your workshop. One free adult per 5 Scouts; additional adults
pay reduced admission of $5. Once final payment is made, no refunds will be given. A confirmation
letter will be mailed to you upon receipt of the deposit.
