Visit Dallas Heritage Village with your troop and experience history.
We believe in living history, and as a part of that mission, we offer a variety of
hands-on programs for Girl Scouts of all ages. Choose from our badge workshops,
guided tour, or self-guided tour programs.

GIRL SCOUT DAY 2010
Plow, Plant and Shear
April 17, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Your troop will explore history through the eyes of Betsy Ray, the girl made famous in a series of ten books by
Maud Hart Lovelace.

All workshops cost $15 per Girl Scout.
FOR GIRL SCOUT BROWNIES
Allow 2 hours for each workshop.
Listening to the Past: Listen to the many stories of Dallas Heritage Village through tours, games, and activities.
Through the Years: Discover the life of a girl just like you at the turn of the century.
Manners: Enjoy a Victorian tea party in a historic house and learn about proper manners.
FOR GIRL SCOUT JUNIORS
Allow 3 hours for each workshop.
Folk Arts: Explore the wide variety of folk arts through artifacts, hands-on crafts, and activities.
Local Lore: Discover the history of North Texas through the buildings and stories of Dallas Heritage Village.


GUIDED TOURS
Guided tours cost $10 per Girl Scout.
Receive a guided tour of several buildings in our Historic Village.
Choose from one of the following themes: Pioneer Girl, Victorian Girl, or From
Toilets to Telephones: 1901 Technology. Craft choices vary depending on tour.
Tours can be adapted to any age level. All Girl Scouts will receive the Dallas
Heritage Village Time Traveler Patch.
SELF-GUIDED TOUR
Self-Guided tours cost $7 per Girl Scout.
Explore the historic village on your own. All Girl Scouts will receive a
Time Traveler Scavenger Hunt, and price includes the Time Traveler Patch.

Workshops and tours are only conducted during regular museum hours and must be booked
at least three weeks in advance. Please remember, we are an outdoor museum!
Workshops are held rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

The Fine Print:
Workshop size is limited to a minimum of 6 Girl Scouts and a maximum of 20 Girl Scouts.
Troops can be combined to meet the minimum. Tour size is limited to 25 Girl Scouts.
A deposit of $50 is required at the time of booking, and the balance is due two
weeks before your workshop. One free adult per 5 Girl Scouts; additional adults pay
reduced admission of $5. No refunds will be given after the payment due date.
Cash will not be accepted on the day of the program. A confirmation letter will
be mailed to you upon receipt of the deposit.
Touring time of the entire museum may not be a part of your chosen workshop.
After the workshop is completed, you are more than welcome to tour the rest of
the museum.
