Way down in Dallas where the breezes blow,
Oh, to that town I am just bound to go;
That is the place where they’ve the grandest dance,
Oh, you kid! It’s just a Texas prance.
Way down there on the Viaduct,
That is where you should surely try your luck,
When the moonlight’s shining clear and bright,
And you’re wooing there on a summer’s night,
To that bridge take a ride,
When you dance the Viaduct Glide.

Chorus:
When I do that Viaduct Glide,
 I sure am filled with pride, (Oh yes, I am),
It beats an auto ride, (You bet it does)
And by it I love to stride. (Oh yes I do).
Oh, to that Dallas slide, (Oh you Slide),
We’ll dance tho’ time betide,
With my affinity, Down by the Trinity,
Doin’ the Viaduct Glide.

I’ve been to Frisco and to gay Paree,
And down in Cuba where they glide so free;
They all have a rag or have a dance so rare,
Yet none touch Dallas with her gliding air.
Down in Texas on that bridge so wide,
I long to dance right to that lovin’ glide.

And for that stunt I always fall,
