Q: What is Gone to Texas?

A: Gone to Texas (GTT) is Dallas Heritage Village's largest annual fundraising event and a term used by 19th century southerners who decided to pull up stakes and move to a land where opportunity called. They often carved the initials "GTT" on their front doors to let others know they had gone to a better place...Texas.
