Visit the Historical Village of Dallas with your troop and experience history.  We believe in living history, and as a part of that mission, we offer a variety of hands-on programs for Girl Scouts of all ages.  Choose from our badge workshops, guided tour, or self-guided tour programs.  For more information, please call the Program Manager at 214-413-3671.

BADGE WORKSHOPS
All workshops cost $15 per Scout.

 FOR BROWNIES:
 Allow 2 hours for workshop.

  • Listening to the Past:  Listen to the many stories of Old City Park through tours, games, and activities.

  • Through the Years:  Discover the life of a girl just like you at the turn of the century.

  • Manners:  Enjoy a Victorian tea party in a historic house and learn about proper manners.

 FOR JUNIORS:
Allow 3 hours for workshop.

  • Folk Arts:  Explore the wide  variety of folk arts through artifacts, hands-on crafts, and activities.

  • Local Lore:  Discover the history of North Texas through the buildings and stories of Old City Park.

  • Ceramics and Clay: Get your hands dirty with our Pioneer Potter.  Explore the shop, kiln, and learn the basics of working with clay.

TIME TRAVELER TOURS

 GUIDED TOURS
Guided tours cost $10 per Scout.

Receive a guided tour of several buildings in our Historic Village.  Scouts will explore the lives of girls from the past, take a ride on the donkey pulled surrey (weather permitting), and make one craft.  Tours can be adapted to any age level.  All scouts will receive the Old City Park Time Traveler Patch.

 SELF-GUIDED TOUR
Self-Guided tours cost $7 per Scout.

Explore the historic village on your own.  All scouts will receive a Time Traveler Scavenger Hunt, and price includes the Time Traveler Patch.

 

 Don�t forget our annual Girl Scout Day,
held every October! 


REGISTRATION INFORMATION 

 To book a workshop or tour, call the Program Manager at 214-413-3671 or via e-mail.  Workshops and tours are only conducted during regular museum hours and must be booked at least three weeks in advance.  Please remember, we are an outdoor museum!  Workshops are held rain or shine.  Please dress appropriately for the weather.

The Fine Print: 

Workshop size is limited to a minimum of 8 Scouts and a maximum of 20 Scouts.  Troops can be combined to meet the minimum.  Tour size is limited to 25 Scouts.

A deposit of $50 is required at the time of booking, and the balance is due two weeks before your workshop.  One free adult per 5 Scouts; additional adults pay reduced admission of $5.  No     refunds will be given after the payment due date.  Cash will not be accepted on the day of the program.  A confirmation letter will be mailed to you upon receipt of the deposit.

Touring time of the entire museum may not be a part of your chosen   workshop.  After the workshop is completed, you are more than welcome to tour the rest of the museum.
