Beginning in February,
enjoy the all new Walk-About Tour. During the Victorian era, this was a kind of
walking tour popular among travelers
when visiting cities or locations of historic or cultural interest. Each month,
there will be a new tour, reflecting that month�s particular historic theme. We
hope you�ll find something new each time you visit!

Before television
and movies, music was the mass media. How did music spread throughout the

Celebrate the birth of our nation as people did 100 years ago with picnics,
bands, trumpeting tunes, has everyone sharing the family fun of the Fourth of
July. There will be hands-on activities for children, games, contests, prizes,
lots of entertainment, and an all-join-in parade! |

Girl Scout Day |
Saturday 10-4p.m. - For Pioneers, the fall harvest was a time to prepare for the hard winter
ahead. After the preparation, it was a time of celebration. Come visit with
artisans such as the Potter, Farmer, Log Kitchen Cook, Native American and more
and participate in hands-on demonstrations. Enjoy surrey rides, crafts,
activities, and compete in the Pumpkin Carving and Pie Eating Contests. Come on,
it's a celebration! Advanced Registration is required for scout troops. |

Civil War on the Homefront / Cub and Boy Scout Day |
Saturday 10-4p.m. - Fall in line with the soldiers of long ago. Experience life at home during
times of war by assisting with the preparations of a war-bound soldier, discover
what were used as substitutes for many household items in a blockade, and hear
the songs and stories of triumph and heartache. Civil War on the Homefront is also Boy
Scout Day. Advanced registration is required for scout troops. |
