Special Events at Old
City Park
Old Fashioned Fourth of July
Celebrate the birth of our nation amidst the
turn-of-the-century buildings at Old City Park.
The festivities include: singers, dancers, bands, an all-join-in parade, pony
rides, face painting,
pie eating contests, sack races, and watermelon seed spitting contests.
Candlelight at Old City Park
Candlelight is an old fashioned holiday celebration
featuring the museum's historic buildings dressed in holiday finery,
carriage rides along candlelit paths, and a "Children's Wonderland" tent
full of craft activities and games. Santa and Mrs. Claus receive
visitors at the museum's Bandstand.
Irresistible treats like homemade fudge are available at the
Bake Sale, while food and drink are available at several sites, including
Candlelight dinners. Strolling costumed carolers provide holiday music
throughout the grounds, while local choirs and dance groups perform at a variety
of locations.
