Why not give the gift of a year long adoption of one of Old City Park's heritage-breed animals?

�Farmstead Friends� is a special care and support program for the heritage breed animals at Old City Park. By adopting an animal you can share in the success of Old City Park�s animal program.

When you become a �Farmstead Friend� you will receive:

- A personalized adoption certificate
- A biography of your animal
- A �Farmstead Friend� button

Adopt Nip or Tuck - $100 each per year

Nip - A Mammoth Jackstock DonkeyTuck - A Mammoth Jackstock Donkey

Nip and Tuck are a matched pair of Mammoth Jack Stock Donkeys. Mammoth Jack Stock are the second largest and second rarest breed of donkey in the world. This breed was developed in the late 1700�s.

Nip has a white blaze on his forehead and is slighter in build than his partner Tuck. Nip is the obstinate one of the pair and it sometimes takes a while to convince him to try new things.

Tuck is stockier in build than his partner Nip and is also not as stubborn.

13 inches long or longer?!
 

Adopt Mary Kate - $100 per year

Mary Kate is an 8 year old Jenny. Jenny is the term for a female donkey.  Mary Kate's job is to protect the sheep at the 1860's Living Farmstead. 
 

Adopt Lucy - $150 per year

Lucy - A Durham or Milking Shorthorn Dairy Cow

Lucy is a 4-year old Durham dairy cow.  Durhams are one of the oldest recognized breeds in the world.  The breed developed in England in the 1600's.  The first Durhams were imported into the United States in 1783 and had spread west of the Mississippi by 1839.
 

Adopt our Flock of Sheep - $200 per year or $50 each per year

Nel, Clara & Phoebe, Rambouillet Ewes

Our flock is currently composed of 5 adult Rambouillet ewes, 2 ewe lambs and 1 wether (neutered male) lamb.  Rambouillets are a hardy fine wool breed that will produce lots of wool for the 1860s Living Farmstead.

Adopt our Poultry - $25 each per year
Dominiques are the oldest poultry breed developed in the United States.

- All adopted animals remain in the care and custody of Old City Park: The Historical Village of Dallas, and no ownership rights are conferred.  Due to their popularity, some animals may be subject to concurrent adoptions.
