Help Raise the Barn at Old City Park

We are sorry to report that on Sunday, February 8, 2004 in the early morning hours, four animals, three goats and a sheep, in the Old City Park Heritage Breed Program were attacked and killed by stray dogs.  Old City Park's flock of sheep are being housed in the livery stable at night as we begin fund raising efforts to expand and enclose the barn at the 1860s Living Farmstead.

Old City Park staff and Cedars Neighborhood Association members began raising the barn on May 22nd but we are still short on funds.

Anyone wishing to purchase wool from Old City Park's pure breed Rambouillet ewes visit http://www.woolfool.com/wool.htm to learn what is available  Proceeds from wool sales go to help raise the sheep barn.

Old City Park’s Heritage Breed Program has been in place since 1998 and is an important component in the accredited museum’s education programs.
