Our Mission

The mission of the Dallas County Heritage Society is to preserve representative structures, artifacts,
and other historical materials related to the history of Dallas and North Central Texas between the
years of 1840-1910 and, through educational programming, to interpret these historical materials to
the public, particularly the youth of our State. The Society�s primary vehicle for accomplishing this
mission is its operation of Old City Park as a historical museum, which it does through a management agreement with the City of Dallas. These structures, along with the Society-owned historical furnishings, artifacts, and other historical materials are used to sponsor educational programs, exhibits, publications,
special events, and research programs for diverse audiences of adults, families, and children.
