Dallas’ longest running family Fourth of July celebration.

 This family-oriented Independence Day event features patriotic music, games & crafts for all ages, and our traditional “All-Join-In” parade. Partake in this year’s Old-Fashioned Fourth and get back to the feel of a patriotic town festival with family, friends and fun!


*      Citizenship ceremony where over 50 people are sworn in as the newest citizens of the USA

*      Eddie Deen’s Backyard Barbeque

*      A flag-waving patriotic program at noon, with a reading of the Declaration of Independence &
Pledge of Allegiance

*      Demonstrations of traditional crafts, including blacksmithing, spinning, weaving & making
ice-cream the old fashioned way

*      For youngsters: stick pony rodeo, make & take crafts, face painting, petting farm & pony rides

*      Pie eating contest, watermelon seed spitting contest, horse shoe contest & a wagon decorating contest

*      All-American entertainers including “unplugged” music, a 16 piece brass band & cloggers

*      Historic reenactment groups including the 9th Texas Infantry, 1876 Centennial Re-enactors & a live Bank Robbery

Tickets
 This year we have 2 ticket options: the general admission ticket and the backyard BBQ combo
which includes admission and Eddie Deen's BBQ.

FREE admission for Old City Park Members

All proceeds benefit the education programs at the museum. 


Parking

Parking is free at the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas parking garage at the northwest corner
of Harwood and Young Streets.  A free shuttle will operate continuously from First Presbyterian.
