Host Your Company Picnic or Family Reunion at Dallas Heritage Village!


Dallas Heritage Village offers so many options for company picnics, family reunions, class reunions and even memorial services. We have a variety of packages which offer a discounted ticket rate and the ability to customize a picnic for groups of up to 500! These combinations also work with our regular self guided and guided tour programs. When you reserve a picnic space or have a private picnic rental in the Pavilion, you are offered the ability to fully cater your event by choosing one of our very reputable and affordable caterers. Our list of rental enhancements such as tour guides, linens, balloons and even Nip and Tuck, make Dallas Heritage Village the perfect venue for families and companies of all sizes. We have provided our picnic rates below.

Grounds Rental


Dallas Heritage Village offers a variety of picnic packages and "all museum" rental packages for conventions and corporations. Museum patrons and members are always welcome to enjoy our picnic grounds which have been moved from the museum green space and are now located in Nancy’s Garden. With an exceptional view of the Dallas skyline, guests can tour the buildings and then enjoy a quiet picnic lunch in this separate gated space. With over 10 on-site picnic tables, there is still plenty of room to drop a blanket or arrange for a tent in our 18,000 sq. ft of picnic space.

Picnics: General Admission


When you purchase a general admission ticket you are welcome to use the picnic space. You can either bring a bag lunch or purchase one of our picnic baskets from the Museum Store. This is great for groups of 15 or less. The picnic tables are available on a first come, first served basis. During school season, Nancy’s Garden and the museum picnic grounds are also used by pre-arranged school groups. Dallas Heritage Village educates over 30,000 children annually with hands-on history programs. If Nancy's Garden is full with school tours, overflow picnic space is located behind the Sullivan House, near the Browder Springs marker and behind the Millermore Mansion (if not booked for a PET tour).

Picnics: Self Tour Rates


Through our Tour Manager, you are able to book pre-arranged self-guided tours for a discounted ticket price. When you self tour, you are also welcome to have a small picnic in the picnic area. The picnic tables are available on a first come, first served basis. You can bring your own bag lunch, purchase a picnic basket from the Museum Store or you can arrange to pick up box lunches. Self Tour and Picnic: $5 adults $4 seniors

Picnics: Guided Tour Rates & Ticket Blocks


Through our Tour Manager, you are able to book pre-arranged guided tours for a discounted ticket price. When you have a guided tour, you are also welcome to have a small picnic in the picnic area. The picnic tables are available on a first come, first served basis. You can bring your own bag lunch, purchase a picnic basket from the Museum Store or you can arrange to pick up box lunches. In the case of inclement weather and if space is available, we can allow for lunch shelter space in the Church or Renner School. Please contact the Tour Manager to arrange for group tours with box lunches.

If your group is a little bit larger (50-100), you can also purchase pre-printed blocks of group tickets. These tickets can be used for general admission and are the lowest contracted ticket price we offer to groups. Please contact the Director of Sales to purchase these tickets:

Guided Tour and Picnic: $10 adults and $8 seniors
Minimum of 15 guests. Reservations required. Box lunch is extra.


Group/Block Tickets: (50-100): $6 adults, $4.50 seniors
Group/Block Tickets: (100 or more): $4 adults, $3.50 seniors

Picnic Rentals: Reserved Space


For groups of 100 or more, Dallas Heritage Village offers a special rate of $5.50 per person for a pre-reserved picnic in the museum picnic space. For $5.50 per person (min 100), you get a reserved space, the ability to rent the grass lot across the street for ball games, the ability to fully caterer your picnic with any of our approved caterers (hamburgers and BBQ to live fajita stations), parking and an event manager or guest services staff member. These picnics can last up to 4 hours. Catering is extra and we do not allow self-catering at the museum. Other picnics, both reserved and general admission may be taking place around you. Please contact the Director of Sales  for more information. Picnics are available all seasons and tent rentals are available for rain back-up.

Picnic Rentals: The Pavillion Package


For groups of 200 or more, Dallas Heritage Village offers a very special picnic package. For a special rate of $6.50 per person you can have a pre-reserved picnic utilizing the Pavilion and the green space behind it. For $6.50 per person (min 200), you get the Pavilion (value $3,100) , the ability to rent the grass lot across the street for ball games, the ability to fully caterer your picnic with any of our approved caterers, parking and an event manager or guest services staff member. In addition, you get 60-inch round tables (up to 20) and additional banquet tables for the green space behind the Pavilion. Picnics can last up to 4 hours. Catering is extra and we do not allow self-catering at the museum. The Pavilion picnic is a private picnic and tents are available to rent for green space coverage. Pavilion picnics are not available on Saturdays due to weddings. As a final benefit, all of your guests get 10% off gift certificates for shopping in the Museum Store. This is an exceptional package for corporate picnics, family reunions and class reunions!

Family & Class Reunions


You can take advantage of these picnic packages or our day rental rates for facilities when hosting your family or class reunion. In addition to this great value, you can also choose any of our rental enhancements for your reunion such as balloons, the popcorn wagon, wagon rides with Nip and Tuck and so much more. We have caterers who can prepare exceptional food for less than $15 per person, fully served and staffed. Please contact the Director of Sales to book your reunion!

Memorial Services


Dallas Heritage Village is a beautiful place to host a memorial service. We are able to host the actual service in the Church and/or we are able to host a beautiful memorial banquet. Often, we facilitate the luncheon that takes place after a funeral or memorial service held at a nearby Church or funeral home. The serene setting and the connection to the past, make Dallas Heritage Village a unique place to pay tribute to a loved one. Please contact the Director of Sales for more information. We tailor these packages to the needs of the client. You can also purchase a memorial brick or sitting bench that will be a permanent reminder of your loved one at the museum.

Picnic Package (1) 100 or more	$5.50 per person, minimum 100 people (4 hours) -Reserve a section of Nancy’s Garden/Museum picnic area (multiple picnics can be going on at the same time). -Arrange for a completely catered event through the Rentals office, with no food minimums (all budget ranges) BBQ, hamburgers, etc. -Rent the adjacent lot for ball games: $100 -Includes an event manager or guest services for 4 hours -Tents available for rent
Picnic Package (2) 200 or more	$6.50 per person, minimum 200 people (4 hours) -Pavilion for a covered space and the green space behind it (Sunday-Friday only, Saturdays excluded due to weddings) -Arrange for a completely catered event through the Rentals office, with no food minimums (all budget ranges) BBQ, hamburgers, etc. -Rent the adjacent lot for ball games: $100 -Banquet tables included in the Pavilion -Extra banquet tables to set on the green space -Includes an event manager or guest services for 4 hours -Tents available for rent for the green space at additional cost -All guests get 10% off gift certificates to shop in the Museum Store
