Blacksmithing
Learn blacksmithing at Dallas Heritage Village with Fred Christen and Charles Cooper.

Prices: $175 adults, (18+) teens (ages 15-17--with adult) $125
Members: $160, teens (ages 15-17) $115
Times are either 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays or Noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Adult (18+) classes offered are Basic and Advanced Blacksmithing
Father/son blacksmithing for teens between ages 15 and 17 available.
Please wear a long sleeve, 100% cotton shirt and 100% cotton long pants!
All Supplies are provided.

In Basic Blacksmithing you will learn:
- What you need to start out
- Building a coal fire
- Learn the difference between iron, mild and tool steel
- Blacksmithing without modern tools
- Learn to make nails and nail header
- Make a pair of tongs
In Advanced Blacksmithing you will learn:
- Forge Welding
- Complex twists and pineappling
- Punch and hot cutter making
